This course will examine health and illness across the age continuum. Specifically, factors increasing our risk of compromised health, such as alcohol use, smoking, medication use/addiction and homelessness, will be discussed. Additionally, infectious, non-infectious and chronic illnesses, as well as disabilities that influence health will be discussed. All topics will be discussed in relation to the role and importance of physical activity, where appropriate. Prerequisite: KP231 and Year 3 or 4 of the BKin program. Exclusion: KP232.
